we get letters

i have to admit that i didn't grow up watching sesame street (i learned english when i was 9 - gimme a break), but those muppets are so damn witty. sugarpockets, c4ts, i know how much you all are into SVU, so this one's for you both.

btw, how freaked out were you by that old episode about the pedophilic cult leader abraham? shudder.

tale as old as time...

growing up as a kid, i actually never watched this show because "beast" sort of scared the bejeezus out of me and i think it was on at an awkward time in canada. they sure softened him up in the disney version. nonetheless, for those of you who just might care, this press release sure is tempting:

Revisit one of the most romantic TV shows of the 80s with "Beauty and the Beast": Season 2, available tomorrow on DVD. This cult favorite centers around Vincent (Golden Globe winner Ron Perlman), a man-beast living underneath the streets of New York City, and Catherine (Linda Hamilton), the beautiful assistant district attorney drawn to the benevolent Vincent. Together, the two share an emotional bond that allows Vincent to sense whenever Catherine is in danger. This new DVD set features video introductions on select episodes by the two stars, both of whom received Emmy nominations for this season.

i had no idea linda hamilton's character was an attorney. an ADA at that. but wait, wikipedia says she was a "wealthy socialite and corporate attorney." so which is it?

don't i know you from somewhere?

i sometimes like to watch law & order at the gym in my office building. i know, i leave my desk so i can learn more about law? i just can't get enough. sam waterston, that is. (jerry orbach, RIP. i loved you as lumiere in beauty and the beast. and thanks for donating your eyes to NYC).

a guest star on this episode reminded me of an old worry of mine: whatever happened to that other guy on bosom buddies? is he haunted by his former co-star's 2 oscars? do these thoughts drive him to drink? what about tubbs? does he think about crockett? how about ruben studdard?

anyway, remember in the company of men, starring dreamboat (despite chin dimple and his being a woman-hatin' mormon) aaron eckhart and that guy who looked like a bald version of mark linn-baker? turns out that guy played some sort of forensics expert on a few eps of L&O the original. okay, so it preceded his co-starring turn as a misogynistic salesman, but i'm just sayin': whatever happened to him?
