Justin, I sorted mail at the Washington Post while Sewell wrote cover stories about the crime wave that hit the city that summer. We are then both alumni, in the loosest sense of the word. He's moved on to the Times, and I to this blog.
On his first day of work, I vouched for Sewell when he showed up ass-early before anyone was in the newsroom, but me (as per my job description). He helped me sort mail and made my rounds in the two hours he had to kill. The guy is really about the most driven person I've met. Even while taking the newsroom by storm, impressing editors, he always found time to hang with me, and by the end of that first week, was doing my job better than i was. It's a rare thing, but the guy deserves every ounce of his success.

There was a log-in mixup. It was I, cold4thestreets, who put up this post. Sugarpockets doesn't think so highly of Adil as I do.
