you give love a bad name

i admit it. i was a huge fan of the OC back in the day, when adam brody was better known as nerderiffic dave rygalski of the gilmore girls and mischa barton hadn't yet begun dating the ballsiest (also seriously NSFW) guy in hollywood.

one of my favorite scenes is when ryan moves away from the cohens' house in season 1. jeff buckley's cover of leonard cohen's "hallelujah" resonates while the camera shows ryan being driven away by his pregnant girlfriend, kirsten cohen breaking down crying, marissa hitting the bottle again, etc. emotional stuff.

but now we get this monstrosity. i know leonard cohen is a bit hard up for money nowadays, but the horror! the horror!

I love that you come out of blog hiatus with guns blazin'--full frontal and all.

Also, who is Cisco Adler? I mean, so far as I can tell he's famous for dating the girls who themselves seem to be famous for no discernible reason. It's like meta-irrelevance.

he's the son of some famous producer/jack of numerous trades. according to wikipedia:

He is the former manager of Jan & Dean, and was the producer of Sam Cooke, The Mamas and the Papas, Johnny Rivers, Barry McGuire, Scott McKenzie, Spirit, Carole King, The Weaver Temptations (which he signed in 1968) and Cheech and Chong. In 1974, he helped to produce the American stage version of the Rocky Horror Show as well as the film version of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. In 1978, Adler directed the movie Up In Smoke, starring Cheech & Chong. The movie remains a cult hit, and in 2000 Adler recorded a commentary track along with Cheech Marin for the DVD release.

cisco apparently is a "musician" or something, but i think he's just a less wealthy, less sweaty brandon davis.
