big f'in deal.

geoff courtnall was made an honourary citizen of the city of victoria back in 2004.

linden was always overrated on that line.

(new years' resolution: be even more contrarian.)

haha, i hope the lord has a full house in which to rest.

c4ts, i like that you took the hockey bait instead of just complaining about it. good stuff.

it's funny, y'know. even just walking around vancouver you just absorb so much random hockey knowledge. for instance, i didn't know there was both a spengler cup and a world junior hockey championship tournament happening right now. my childhood also explains why i couldn't give a shit about college sports despite having attended two US post-graduate institutions. i didn't even know the rose bowl was yesterday.

My complaints about the hockey posts are implied, especially since you don't seem to know the difference between Valeri and Pavel Bure. (Italics justified.)

I'm pretty sure you're going to have your citizenship revoked now. (Your Russian citizenship.)

dude, please. i'm not even going to pretend to have mixed up the bure brothers.

anyway, geoff did own a restaurant called "courtnall's" at a point in time in vancouver, but it appears that the establishment no longer exists. i have even lower hopes for momesso cafe.

How are we talking 90s Canucks without mention of Jyrki Lumme? I hear he's opening a poutine stand in Burnaby with @BretHedican.

didn't you hear? hedican opened a japadog stand downtown with kristi yamaguchi. maybe cliff ronning is available.

I was going to make a joke about Kirk McLean owning a Korean taco twitter truck - but he really does own "McLean's" in Gastown; It's a restaurant AND bar AND deli, so it must be good.

Ok. Seriously. This needs to stop. Jyrki Lumme references are a bridge too far.

you nazi, leave the comments section alone.

and re. jyrki - unbeknownst to all of us, he is a "legend of hockey:"

but yeah, lumme is like reaching the end of the internets. what else can we say about the 90s canucks team at this point, aside from the fact that i ran into PAT QUINN at the toronto airport once?

God damnit. I'm watching the Capitals/Penguins HBO special right now, so I can't criticize you all...Didn't think I could hate Crosby more. He is the John Boehner of Canada.

E said...

you're going to be so sad you mentioned this HBO special. too much to be said, but i will start with these:

1. fucking tony granato. i hate that dude.
2. george mcphee - what up with his euro scarf? also, can we discuss the 90s canucks connection here and how i called his office in my failed attempt to interview him?
3. i didn't know your oompa loompa-hued speaker was a national hero and gold medal winner.

Two words that will revive this thread: Bret Hedican.

Hedican, Ohland and Lumme were the greatest thing since Hill, Laetner and Hurley.
