see sugarpockets' post -- the mid to late 90's was kind of the apex of my life. i hope justin weighs in. all my shoe and jean related decisions pass through him.
y'know, this ties in with my theory that people (sartorially) revert to the style from when they felt they were the coolest. or when they gave up. see: mall hair in the 'burbs.
hmmm, they're nice and subtle and unoffensive. in the interest of being as critical as possible, i'll offer two minor criticisms. 1) they're a little plain. and 2) in general, i prefer shoes that don't show too much sole from the side--these soles happen to be colored an unfortunate shade of faux earthworm--but the sole issue is a matter of personal preference on which I doubt the fashion world has reached a consensus.
Thanks, Justin. I found them online, and they're on sale, and I'm getting them. I can live with not being de rigeur, so long as I'm comfortable and i have your approval.
I just now realize there are two Justins in my life. But I appreciate the counsel of both.
Also, E, I was never cool. Don't make that mistake again. But still, Air Force Ones and white Converse--y'burnt!--pass for hip these days, so why not revert back to a simpler time? A time when the easy stylings of BoyzIIMen emitted from radios far and wide, a time when the President's gravest sins were limited to his libido, a time when Duke actually had a good basketball team.
I think Campers are actually cool, but then again I didn't even know about them til 2000, so does that make my opinion irrelevant? Anyways, I guess you went ahead and bought them, but you should always try shoes on before you buy them to make sure they fit you and don't make your feet look funny.

naw, you are not reading. i said when one "felt" cool, not necessary WAS cool. very different things.
yes, let's not rehash our desire to return the mid-90s sports-wise.
